Perspective

Let’s talk about perspective… we have been down in Costa Rica for a few days now and I love sitting on this hill looking over the ocean. It is my “thinking spot”.

That’s me trying to make a “question your perspective” face LOL

Today, as I was watching the ocean below us, I started thinking about a couple I had seen at the beach a day or two ago… in rented kayaks, they had paddled away from the calm beach of the in front of the nearby village, rounded a corner, and come over to a beach that many locals see as one of the prime surfing locations in the area.

They had landed their kayaks on the beach for a short period and were now trying to leave. Unfortunately, leaving was not easy…. just offshore, we see beautiful 2-meter waves cresting and curling. The inexperienced kayakers are feverishly paddling toward the open water. However, each time they make it a few meters out, a wave crashes over them, flips the kayak, and washes them back to shore.

Meanwhile, a handful of surfers nearby are happily paddling with those breaking waves and enjoying an amazing ride to the shore.

To those kayakers, the beach must have seemed like hell. A place where they were trapped by unrelenting waves. To the surfers, the beach was a paradise. It offered an amazing natural playground.

It is all about perspective.

The point of the story above is to have you consider what perspective you are looking at your future from. When you think of making money online (whether through trading, or affiliate marketing, or selling products on Amazon, or something else)… what is your view?

Perhaps you have tried and failed in the past. Perhaps you have a friend or family member that has tried and failed. From one perspective, it seems that it is impossible to make money online. However, millions of other people would disagree…. as they enjoy time and location freedom they can only see making money online as their playground.

I ask you to take a an hour or so and think about what limiting beliefs you might be harboring and how those beliefs could be changed with a simple change of perspective. Just the simple act of acknowledging that an alternative view is available can help you to begin see things in a different way.
